pylint #33618 old and new style classes check [open]
when subclassing a standard type (like collections.namedtuple), you get a new style class. using __slots__ in that subclass definition should not cause pylint to throw an error 'use slots in old style class'. i suspect this is b/c pylint is checking to see whether the subclass extends object; explicitly inheriting from object too makes pylint happy, but any time you subclass a standard class in python after 2.2 you get a new style class.
