hgview #17933 have an "open repository" button/action somewhere [in-progress]
working from consoles is quite clumsy in windows (esp. if there's a trick to make a process launch in the background I'd like to learn it) so having a fancy button opening a directory chooser would be nice | |

add commenta trick: use bash :-)
sure, but that's more configuration and cygwin & potentially multiple python & hg installations that i'd like to fiddle with ....
besides, i'm pretty sure the cost of that feature is nearing None ...
Be my guest ;-)
why not have a contextual menu (on hg directories under the windows explorer) on windows instead?
because such a menu does not really belong to hgview ? (ok, weak answer :-))
any clue about how to do that ?
also, are you suggesting a _completely_ different ui in windows and unixes ?
uis are completely different in windows and unixes (mouse vs. terminal).
And it's only the "how to start the app" ui we are talking about here, the GUI app itself remains the same.
yes but portable guis are the same all over the place, hence your very generalizing remark is irrelevant
