hgview #112566 hgview logo / icon and .desktop file [open]
Please ship a hgview logo/icon with hgview. Something that makes it recognizable when launching it from a GUI menu or in the overview of running applications.
Please also consider shipping a matching hgview.desktop, for instance:
[Desktop Entry]
It would be OK to leave it to the packager / sysadmin to install these files correctly. | |

add commentthis seems a good idea. Can you provide a patch? You seems to know what you are talking about.
In my Fedora packaging I install
/usr/share/applications/hgview.desktop
/usr/share/pixmaps/hgview.png
BUT I am not sure your setup.py should install it automatically ... but it would be nice if you shipped some files so all packagers didn't have to do it your self.
I can look into the .desktop stuff, but could you guys please first ship a suitable icon? Preferably a svg or png's in multiple resolutions. (I tried to convert the website .ico to png ... but that is not pretty.)
1.8.0 do still not provide an icon. What icon are packagers supposed to be using?
